Where did summer go!?!?! Well, God has painted the trees all different colors, gave us crisp apples, bright winter squashes, warm sweaters, each other and a good dose of Himself. I am suddenly hushed into thanksgiving. Do you know the hymn from which these words come?
Summer and winter, and spring-time and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness,
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed they hand hath provided,
Great is Thy faithfulness! Lord unto me!
This month we are going to be blessed in many ways at Sunnyside, first is this weekend with Dr. Arlene Taylor as to look to how wonderfully we were created in the hand of the master. This weekend we are going to be looking at the owner’s manual to understand how our minds work and process information. This will also tell us that the person we live with might have a different manual and we are expecting them to operate under the manual we have. Here again is Dr. Taylor’s weekend schedule:

October 14 & 15, and the following weekends, 21 &22, will feature Shawn Boonstra’s, “Out of Thin Air”. These four nights will all start at 7:00 pm and we will talk more about this in next week’s Communiqué.
Jonathan and I (Scott) are teaming up to do a pair of sermons looking at two topics in the book of Revelation that are very dear to the heart of Adventists, but sometimes not understood as well as they might. October 15, Pastor Scott will present the first sermon, “The Testimony of Jesus: an Odyssey of Mercy,” in which we will look at how Revelation really defines “the testimony of Jesus.” The next Sabbath, October 22, Jonathan will present the second sermon, “Disappointed No More,” a look at the judgment motif in Revelation and how our church had moved from the bad news about the judgment into seeing God’s gracious goodness in the same.
Lest I overload you with information I will stop here. Give us your prayers and invite neighbors, friends, former members, or whomever God should bring into your presence in the next weeks.
See you tonight at 7:00!
With you in Christ,
Pastor Scott LeMert
