Welcome Sunnyside Saints!
It has been a very busy week for the pastoral staff with camp meeting at the Conference Convention Center. From everything that I have heard and seen, it is a very good camp meeting. Elizabeth Talbot, the evening speaker, has been terrific! We have had a few literal “showers of blessing” at times but it just settles the dust and who would want to return to the 105 degree weather that we had a few years ago.
Should you be there this weekend, remember that Sabbath morning will have an Sabbath School lesson panel led by yours truly, and the worship service will again be carried musically by Sunnyside and the guest speaker will be Elder Dan Jackson, the North American Division President. Oh, and tonight the music will be by the Kings Heralds, as well as they will have a concert Sabbath afternoon. Sabbath evening will finish with the last of Elizabeth Talbot’s presentations and a grand finale by the Oregon Adventist Men’s Chorus. The weather is to be just perfect on Sabbath. I’ll look for you.
Now, having said all of this, my other love is Sunnyside and I hope that I have not sold short what is happening here. There is a great program planned! Sabbath School will start at 10:00 for all ages and with just one adult class in the sanctuary. There will be but one church service and it will start at 11:00, not the usual 11:20 for a second service. I must say that the Sunnyside crew that is putting together tomorrow’s “Camp Meeting at Sunnyside” has not shorted their calling. It is going to be a great program as well.
So, you have to choose, and you are torn between two great choices.
Courage to all of you in the name of the Savior!
