Happy 2013 Sunnyside!

We trust that you have all had a blessed holiday season.  And yes, that understands that each year brings things that we readily recognize as a blessing, the other things that seem hard at the time but only later do we see how God still puts roses on our life’s thorns.

I (Pastor Scott) want to take this time to thank each of you for making Sunnyside what it is.  This is such an active church that it is very hard for me to personally thank everyone for their efforts in the mission of Sunnyside.  In fact, I deeply regret that I seem so busied sometimes that I cannot stop and take time to just be with you.  Yes, we get moments, but I find that at many of our services and events I scurry around making sure that everything happens as it should, when the most important thing is not the event, but “you.”  God help me to do better, but don’t be afraid of just standing in my way and saying, “please, just stop for a minute and be my friend as well as pastor.”

This Sabbath Pastor Jonathan kicks off a first round in a collective set of themes that will be very much a part of our January and February church services: leadership, community, service, connecting, and worship.  Only Sabbath, January 26, will vary from this subject.  That Sabbath is a Christian Belief, Faith, and Mission (CBFM) weekend with Walla Walla University.  Watch for more details to come.

Now, sit back and catch up on all of what is going to happen.

That simply is amazing! Additionally, our Church Budget contributions are nearly keeping pace with our budget needs. Thank you to each of you who have contributed to ReNew Sunnyside and our Church Budget, not to mention other mission and outreach projects throughout the year. Without your faithfulness, Sunnyside Church wouldn’t exist. May the Lord continue to bless His people as we remain faithful in supporting His work.

Next Sabbath, January 12, at 4 pm we are honored to host Dr. Kimo Smith in organ concert. Dr. Smith is currently the Associate Professor of Music and Director of Keyboard Studies at La Sierra University.
