Happy Preparation Day!
The Sabbath hours are soon upon us. The Sabbath I have found harder to celebrate while living in suburbia. The rural lifestyle of North Dakota was more private. No neighbors’ lawn mower, no parties across the street, and any vehicle traffic was a visitor to welcome in. Today, keeping the boundaries of the Sabbath takes deliberate intentionality. Still, if one takes the time, the rewards are the semester–quality time with God and others who share your beliefs.
Tomorrow we will celebrate our time together during the worship service reflecting on the scenes of Jesus at the house of Simon the Pharisee. This unique story in Luke 7:36-50 provides interesting insight into how Jesus, the master teacher, took charge of a touchy
situation and left many deep lessons.
Check out the many other announcements of other Sabbath events and many more to come in this newsletter. See you Sabbath. The blessing comes by keeping The Lord of the Sabbath as the object of the Sabbath.
