Greetings Sunnyside!

Dorothy and I have returned home and we hope to see all of you tomorrow.  We had a great time and everything went very nicely—no lost luggage or canceled flights.  In spite of being gone we thought of you many times each day.  It is nice to be at Sunnyside again.

Sunnyside is going to have a very busy weekend coming up.  Sabbath morning will see a reenactment of the Last Supper/communion service.  We have had a tradition of doing the reenactments in the evening. This is a new program and we are bringing it to the worship service.  It will include the Sunnyside Chamber Orchestra and a special vocal ensemble along with a full cast of actors.  A lot of work has gone into this program; it will be a blessing and it is one worthy of an invite of those special people on you prayer list.

Sabbath afternoon at 3:00 pm, we will say our farewells to Duane Kruger who passed away on June 14.  Please, come and support Angie and the family.

At 6:00 pm, we will celebrate the Annual Sunnyside Strawberry Vespers—another event to invite friends.  Then on Sunday we launch SunnyCity and Monday we are into VBS.  See this newsletter for further details on these events.

Thank you all for helping make Sunnyside what it is, and that being a church that does ministry and is truly a house of prayer and worship for all people.

See you tomorrow!

Pastor Scott and Staff

A School for Siret … A Church for Mihaileni …And a Whole Lot More
Sunnyside Church’s Romania Mission Taskforce includes 50 persons ranging in age from 3 to 78. No one’s too young or too old to go where Christ needs someone to go. Some leave Monday. Most fly to Bucharest July 28, then travel north by bus to Siret where they will

* Do church and school construction;
* Run a full-scale Vacation Bible School for children;
* Conduct services and seminars in area Adventist churches;
* Present continuing-education lectures to area physicians and a health and wellness program to the public;
* Improve town parks and greenspaces–a youth-with-youth initiative.

How is all this activity funded?

It begins with personal enthusiasm for mission. It ends with congregational generosity to mission.

To cover land travel, accommodations, meals, and cultural experiences, Sunnyside’s missionaries to Siret are contributing at least $30,340. They have already contributed the total cost of flights to/from Romania: $75,313.97.
