Church Announcements

Our Flower Calendar has several available dates in the months of August, September, and October. If you have a special date coming up, or would just enjoy sharing flowers with your church family, please take time to place your name on one of the blank dates. Thank you.

Kiriku, a premier Japanese Handbell group is touring the West Coast and will be presenting a concert here at Sunnyside Thursday, July 25 at 7:30 pm. Kiriku has attracted attention not only because of its unique ability to perform up to six octaves of handbells with only six to eight ringers, but also because of the group’s impressive technique and expressive musicality. Plan now to attend.

Dr. Saleem Farag (Ann Westermeyer’s father) will present a vespers entitled “From Wabag to Washington DC to Where?” July 27 at 7 pm here at Sunnyside. He will share the amazing and faith inspiring journey that led him from serving as a medical missionary in the highlands of New Guinea to his current ministry to the orphans of Zimbabwe as director of the Newstart Children’s Home. Along the way he found himself unexpectedly called to serve as the governor’s advisor for health affairs in California for 18 years advising as diverse political figures as Ronald Reagan and Jerry Brown. Turning down an opportunity to serve with the Reagan administration in Washington DC . Find out why he was known as an “apolitical” man and why twenty years later a political columnist in California called for returning to the “Farag principles” in state governance. Why does Dr. Farag believe his work with the orphans is the most important and rewarding experience of his life?

SunnyShare Cooperative – There is a table located in the hallway near the Fellowship Hall for food, extra produce, and goods from Sunnyside homes and gardens to share.

Family Resource Network – Thank you for your support of our Family Resource Network. Your gifts help prevent homelessness and many other acute needs. Mark your contribution to Account # 9387, Family Resource Network.
