Greetings Sunnyside Family!

It was only six weeks ago that we hosted The Living Last Supper for our worship service at Sunnyside.  If you missed it, it’s worth checking out the DVD.  I hear that it’s about ready.  As most of you know, I had the privilege of playing Jesus in the production.  It was certainly an interesting experience.  Beyond growing the beard and letting the hair grow out a bit, there was the matter of learning to assume the character of Jesus. Or at least how we imagine Him to be.  In the subsequent weeks, many people have stopped me to comment how well I played the part.  “You were just like Jesus,” I’ve been told.  I appreciate the feedback because it validates the hard work of acting, yet there is a piece of me that is unsatisfied.  For those few hours, I was simply acting like Jesus.  Yet scripture promises that when we live the Christian journey of faith, Jesus lives in us and through us.  I crave to be so close to Jesus that people can see me without the beard, without the robe, without the hair, and say, “You are just like Jesus.”  This is what I desire for our church community.  May it be said of Sunnysiders, whenever we interact with each other or those who are not yet a part of our church community, “They are just like Jesus.”

This week, the Romania mission trip is in full swing.  We haven’t heard too many reports from on the ground, but there have been some pictures from the area.  We see many smiles and lots of great food. Sunnyside to Siret.  Continue to pray for our missionaries as they serve well across the world.

Thanks to each of you for everything you do to make Sunnyside a great place!

Blessings,

Pastor Jonathan

Sabbath worship services are at 8:45 and 11:15 am. Pastor Jonathan Russell will be presenting our Bible message entitled The Art of Re-gifting.

Our monthly fellowship potluck will be immediately following our second service today. Plan to attend and bring enough food for your family as well as extra to serve our guests. This is a great time to visit with friends and make new acquaintances.

Today, our photographer will be taking photos in the Youth Room from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm . If you haven’t had your picture taken for our photo directory, this would be a good day to do so, or if you need a re-take, Ben will be happy to do that as well.
