Happy Thanksgiving Saints!
Hope you are planning on joining Sunnyside for worship tomorrow! You are in for a treat of a special kind. Portland Adventist Elementary School will be doing both services, almost entirely. And, the two services are different, done this way intentionally to be able to incorporate all of the students and their many musical activities at the school. They have been practicing for this event and have been here rehearsing. If you have young families in your friendship circle, this would be a great Sabbath to invite them. You might even want to take in both services. Come and support the kids and school staff!
Tomorrow afternoon Sunnyside will also host another important event that does not come our way very often. It is the special ordination service for own, Pastor Jonathan Russell. The service will start at 3:00 and a reception will follow.
This last Wednesday evening the Sunnyside Church Board finalized on a proposal for Sunnyside ReNew Phase 2.1–the fellowship room and other areas of the church. This proposal will be unveiled to the church at the business meeting which has been called for Sunday night at 6:00. It is important for each to try to attend this milestone event.
Also, the church board voted a comprehensive outreach budget and plan for the upcoming year of 2014. There will be a “Life on the Sunnyside” banquet Sunday night, December 1, at 5:30. It has become a tradition for Sunnyside to fund these many outreach ministries in advance so that those involved with them can focus their efforts on actual ministry and not just fundraising. Look for information to sign up for this banquet. Please, plan to attend and support these many and varied activities that are all about Sunnyside’s mission to our community.
