Greetings Sunnyside Family,
This regularly scheduled message has been pre-empted by Winter Storm Orion. I sit here looking out the window and admiring the blowing, swirling snow. Already, I’ve had a number of people ask about weekend services. This seems like the appropriate place to address the questions.
- Children’s Church has been re-scheduled for February 15. If you have committed to participating in that service, we hope that you will be able to help next weekend.
- 8:45, 10:00, 11:15 services will proceed as scheduled. All services, including the 2:30 seminar with Arlene Taylor will be streamed live on our website at www.SunnysideAdventist.org/live and archived for the future. We encourage you to stay safe. If you have questions about your ability to make it to church, stay home and join in the live stream. Since I am only a few blocks away, I will be here to have the church open for anyone who wishes to make the trip. We will plan to have church services, including presentations by Arlene Taylor. But above all, stay safe!
We will have any changes to the scheduled posted on our homepage by 7 AM on Sabbath.
I know that for those of you from North Dakota, Canada or other customarily snow-bound places, the weather is probably not that big of a deal . But we’ve been around Portland long enough to know that this weather still makes for crazy traffic and, in some cases, cold homes. It’s moments like these when being a part of a church family is significant. As church family, we can check in with each other to make sure that we have the necessities of food, heat, and medicine for the next couple of days. I hope that you’ll be praying for the safety of those who need to travel. And I hope that you’ll take it upon yourself to call and check In on those who may be most at risk in this cold snap.
Thank you to each of you who make Sunnyside a great community. You are each a blessing.
Stay safe and have a blessed Sabbath!
