March 8 Communiqué

Don’t miss other Announcements and Week At a Glance in the Church Bulletin

Greetings Church!

I trust that each of you is surviving our March lion.  I should not say this because our “cruise people” basking in Panama right now will see this and gloat.  Next week is promised to make up for it.

You are equipped by God with spiritual gifts. We would like you to discover your spiritual gifts by taking a spiritual gifts assessment Please do this even if you have taken one before. When you have completed this you can download a profile sheet for each of your gifts.

Exciting news! The great thing is you can take the test online by clicking on this link Those who do not have a computer, check on the Information desk for a paper copy; when you are finished please give a copy of the results to the Church office. There is a ministry team who will be doing their best under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to help you link your gifts with a ministry.

A quick special thanks to each of you for supporting the Dr. David Trim presentations last weekend.  Dr. Trim is talking about coming again in the future.  This weekend has a number of announcements including the Sunday wedding for Crystal Uren and Taylor Kielman (see announcement), and the RESCUE concert at 7:00 on Saturday night.  Remember the time change this weekend!

Tomorrow’s worship service begins the first of three sermon presentations on topics for which a number of our members have requested.  Sabbath’s service is entitled, “Songs of the Heart,” and in it we are going to look at the role of music in the church and at some of the many questions that seem to always be with us.

Next Sabbath is Pathfinder Sabbath so the worship service will be led by our own Pathfinders.  The theme of the service will be, “Call upon the Lord,” with Pastor Jonathan drawing lessons from the experience of the psalmist as he penned these words in the midst of his personal chaos.

On Sabbath, March 22, the service, “The Passions of a Prayerful Heart,” will look at the subject of prayer, personal and especially in group worship.  And then on March 29, I will address the subject of reverence in worship with a presentation entitled, “Silence and Celebration.”

All of these sermons and services are designed to continue to discuss the theme of why Sunnyside exists, which is, “to inspire a community of people toward a life transformed by Jesus.”

See you Sabbath!
