Greetings Sunnyside Family!
Spring has sprung and it is enough already for a smile on everyone’s face. If you haven’t, check out all of the daffodils on the church grounds. A heartfelt thanks is due to all who have made them possible for us to see!
As the Sabbath hours draw nigh, do praise God for His many blessings including the promise of eternal spring in a new creation. Tomorrow’s worship service will focus on the question of prayer. Yes, for many it is a question, or questions. “If God knows the end from the beginning,” some ask, “then what difference does prayer really make?” Or another might ask, “I have prayed and prayed and I don’t get answers;” and another, “Prayer seems to work for others but not for me, my problems in life seem unchanged, with or without prayer.” Or, “A short prayer, or a long prayer, is there any difference,” and, “Do I have to kneel at all times to pray?” See you tomorrow for, “The Passions of a Prayerful Heart.”
Two concerts for your calendar: The first is Sunnyside’s annual “Spring Family Vespers” tomorrow evening at 6:00 pm, and please, come join us as we host the Canadian Union College Concert for our area, on Wednesday at 7:00 pm. We also will be providing overnight stay for the choir and instrumentalists, which will be about ninety people, and will include a ride from Sunnyside on Wednesday night, bed and breakfast, and a return ride the next morning. If you are willing to assist us, call Kathy Rosenquist at 503-860-3976, or email her at Kathy.Rosenquist@SunnysideAdventist.org.
And just another quick note, the refurbishment of the fellowship rooms and youth room will be completely finished by the end of this month. A thanks to all who have worked many hours on this and to the many who have contributed to the fundraising toward this project. We are still short about $24,000 and would like to see a final push to finish out financial commitment as well.
See you Sabbath,
Pastor Scott & Staff
