Dear Saints in Christ,
I have word that the Pathfinders have arrived at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. A sincere thanks needs to be shared with all of the people of Sunnyside who have dug deep into their pockets and raised the money to send these kids to the camporee. We really cannot put a price on this event; these kids will never be the same. Events like this do what none of us can do from the pulpit or classroom. These occasions give unforgettable experience; they anchor and shape the kid’s perspective on life. No matter what happens later in life, these remembrances will always bring them back.
This Sabbath is also a special Sabbath for our younger children who were not old enough for Oshkosh this time around. They will have one big, 10:00-12:30 special program called, “Investigation Station: Galactic Quest.” This program is designed to call attention to God’s wonderful creation and our part in it. Parents, please have your children here by 10:00, and bring them to the Fellowship Room. The usual adult classes that meet at this time and location will move to the children’s annex for this Sabbath.
There will be two worship services in the sanctuary at the usual times. This Sabbath we will look deeply into the wonderful book of Philippians and seek to take in Paul’s manifold, joyous, letter to his friends in Philippi. Some of the most remembered verses of the Bible come from this work. Come to be encouraged to live for Christ.
Oh, and many thanks to all of you for taking Sunnyside over the top on our ReNew 2:1 phase. The design committee is already working on plans for ReNew 2.2. Included in this phase will be a variety of updates that no few of you have asked about. Watch for more details as the plans come together.
This week’s bulletin includes many important announcements that are waiting for your soon opportunity to read them.
See you Sabbath,
Pastor Scott and Staff
