Greetings to all!!!
Doesn’t September put a smile on your face? Have you stopped by a local farm stand recently and looked at all of the colorful produce? I have always marveled at foods like a peach. Why would the peach spend so much time making the delicious, colorful, sweet, and fragrant meat? By the laws of evolution, it should only concern itself with making a hard to eat seed. Someone bigger than us had a plan!!!
First, a big thanks to everyone that helped make last weekend a success and I am to give you a special thanks from Bobby McGhee and our many guests who were made to feel so welcome. Thank you!
Tomorrow we start the first of five sermons (from Pastor Scott) from Revelation. This one is titled, “Revelation’s Holy Angels.” In it we will look at fellow beings who have so much invested in us. This sermon will be followed by, “Revelation’s Antagonists,” “Revelation’s Promises,” “Revelation’s Saints,” “Revelation’s Lamb,” and perhaps others from Revelation as time goes on.
Tomorrow, being the first of the month, is potluck Sabbath. While our Hospitality Committee has not asked, I am sure that they would appreciate if we would all try to bring picnic type items that don’t have to be placed in anything but perhaps a warming oven. It is not too late to plan to attend the outreach training program (how to witness Jesus to others) slated for 1:30-5:00. Also at 5:00, Encounters will feature a report on our recent mission program in Romania working to assist the Roma (Gypsy) people. You will want to see this report.
There are many other things in the bulletin for your attention and for up-coming events.
Have a Blessed Sabbath Day!!!
Pastor Scott and Staff
