Sunnyside Members and Guests,
Can you believe that September is almost over already? October has its own God given wonder and we will welcome it in as well. Some have been asking me, “Are you going to be doing another fall batch of sauerkraut? Yes, next week some time. September is just too warm for it to happen right. Have your ever tried drying Honey Crisp apples? Oh my! What a flavor! Ask me how sometime.
Our Sunnyside prayers are with Oregon Adventist Men’s Chorus as they wrap up their Romanian trip. This should have been a wonderful time to see Romania, and the unsurpassed hospitality of the Romanian members and churches is sure to send them back to us freshly inspired.
A good number of you have been attending, as you can, the Ron Clouset meetings in Vancouver over this last month. We hear great reports as to their success. Many of us have not been able to get to the meetings; we’ll look forward to hearing more reports from others of you.
With the close of September comes the renewed gathering of Walla Walla nursing students and with it comes Sunnyside’s famed Monday, “Bread Night.” Willing to help? See the announcement further on.
Sunnyside also welcomes the many new members who have chosen Sunnyside to be there new church home. As well as a good number through the summer, we have about fifteen in current transition into Sunnyside at the moment, and most of them are young adults and families.
Just a word on our stewardship report: giving always picks up this time of year and our treasury staff is counting on all of us. Summer, as usual, has been rather slow and has our Finance Committee praying for the usual fall pick up. This would be a good time to catch up if we have fallen behind in all of the summer rush.
Tomorrow is worship service # 3 on the book of Revelation, with “Revelation’s Promises,” as our theme. It will also cradle a special communion service, for which second service will have the Sunnyside Adult Choir joining us for the entire program. Do you know the hymn, “Lord God, Your Love Has Called Us Here?” You will at the end of the service.
See you all tomorrow.
Pastor Scott and Staff
