Dear Sunnyside Church family,
As I was thinking about “The Dash,” the poem I shared with you at the end of the service last Sabbath, it reminded me of how blessed we are at Sunnyside. http://www.linda-ellis.com/the-dash-the-dash-poem-by-linda-ellis-.html
We are all too aware of how short-lived life can be… but we have had the blessing of members who have lived “The Dash” well. They have been mentors, friends, and fellow-travelers, encouragers who have walked before us and followed Jesus. You have people that have touched your life and that you think of. People like the Larry Lewises and the Mary Paulson-Laudas come to mind. We have been touched by their prayers and their example of compassion, kindness, and care for others and for us.
It is a challenge to us to take the baton that they have passed on and run with it to the finish line. Who will lead, who will take their place. Mary has been the one who has led in praying for our children. Who will take her place? Will you?
Pastor Scott will be sharing with us who God’s people are and what is said about them at our church services.
(Revelation 19:6-9) I look forward to learning more from Revelation. Until we meet again…
grace mercy peace

Church Safety Training, sponsored by the Oregon Conference and specifically designed for church leaders, will be conducted at Meadow Glade Church October 12, from 9 am to 5 pm. If you haven’t been through a safety training in the last three years, this would be very valuable for you. We are honored to host Ty Gibson, in person, of Light Bearers October 29-
November 1, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm, each evening. His topic will be “Reframe –Your picture of God is about to be radically changed!” Our world is filled with ideas, conceptions, and pictures of God, most of which drive people to either serve God with fear or definitely deny the very existence of God. What if we were to begin with a clean canvas and paint a picture of God that rules out all ideas that run contrary to the single premise, “God is love”? What picture would form? Which doctrines would be eliminated? What would God look like if we were to completely reframe His character in the light that shines in the life of Jesus Christ? That’s what this series is about. It may very well revolutionize your life.
Women of the Meadow Glade area, Belle Cantori, and Sunnyside Church are joining together for our worship service on November 15. We would like to invite other women singers that would like to join us for that special day, especially if you are in a church community where you may not have the opportunity to sing with a larger group. If interested or would like more information, please contact Martha Natiuk, 360-666-9684, or Rosemayne Thompson, 503-730-5317.
