Sunnyside Members and Friends,
I first wish to thank all of you who were able to support our meetings last week with Ty Gibson. There were so many positive comments. In case you missed some or all of the presentations, be sure to check them out on our website archives.
This Sabbath we will celebrate with the WWU School of Nursing parents and friends. This is the second year we have cosponsored this event and we are looking forward to being the host church for this memorable day. A delegation from the main Washington WWU campus will be present, including the guest speaker, Dr. David Richardson, who is Vice President of Student Life at WWU, and WWU President, Dr. John McVay. Many of the nursing students will be participating in the morning services, and they would like for us to join them at 4:00 pm for the Nurses Dedication Service.
If you have not, please, do put Saturday evening, 6:00 pm, on your schedule. This appointment is too important to miss. We will start with a buffet dinner which will be followed by a church business meeting. There are two main items for consideration. The first will be the reviewing of an outline for a very active young adult ministry for Sunnyside for the year 2015. This will be followed by our receiving from the Design Committee a major third step in our Sunnyside ReNew plans. In this next phase are many elements that many of you have been asking about and waiting for. This phase will really leave its mark on the church’s ReNew vision. Your input and approval is sincerely sought. We will also review the church’s overall financial picture as part of this meeting.
Another expression of deserved thanks is due to the various teams who are working on our Thanksgiving and Christmas programing. Life in Christ and Life on the Sunnyside are both going to be celebrated!
See you Sabbath,
Pastor Scott and Staff
