Good morning Sunnyside Church family,
Do you ever wake up in the night with songs in your head? Wednesday, Pauline Davis came up with the thought that we should sing in FaithLift (btw, if you are wanting to spend more time in meaningful Bible study ladies, consider yourself invited). One song led to another… Since then the hymn, “Father Lead Me Day by Day” has been going around in my head.
How has God been leading you this week? How has your faith journey been? Do you catch yourself doubting? Is it wrong to ask questions and to doubt? You may feel your faith quotient is pretty low right now. Pastor Scott is going to share some thoughts in this Sabbath’s sermon.
In the meanwhile for today,
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT
News & Notes
Sabbath worship services are at 8:45 and 11:15 am. Pastor Scott LeMert will be bringing us our Bible message entitled “Jesus’ Most Perplexing Question.”
Today is Religious Liberty Sabbath. Our offering will go for Religious Liberty and helps ensure that we are free to practice our faith and share the Gospel as God has instructed. It is because of your faithful giving that we are able to offer legal aid to individuals experiencing religious discrimination in the workplace. Learn more at: www.LibertyMagazine.org.
Today . . . Your contribution to defend freedom!
(1) Use the Freedom Bond distributed last Sabbath. Or:
(2) Use a Sunnyside Tithe and Offerings envelope.
(3) Write your check payable to Sunnyside Church (for Religious Liberty). $6 will sponsor a Liberty Magazine subscription to a thought leader. But consider this: $6 monthly will sponsor 12 subs!
(4) Record the names and addresses of persons, entities, institutions, offices, etc., you want to receive Liberty. Tuck your list inside the Freedom Bond with your check. Or: (5) Hand your list (by Sabbath, February 14) to Dick Fenn in the Elders/Visitation/Mission office.
(6) With love for others, share the truth revealed in Jesus Christ.
(7) When people experience the truth as it is in Jesus, they are . . . free
Tomorrow, Sunday, 2:00 pm, there will be a baby shower for Marlane Heiser here at the church. Marlane is registered at Babies“R”Us and Amazon.com. Bring a favorite children’s book instead of a card.

February 17, 18, 7:00 pm: It’s January, which means it’s time for Oregon Conference Town Hall Meetings. This year however, you won’t see “Town Hall Meetings” on any conference calendar. Instead, you will see this annual time sharing time aptly named “Conference Connect.” The format will give the chance for church members and conference personnel to share. In fact, this year an important question will be asked: Why do our congregations exsist? What is our reason for being? And we’ll discuss those questions both in a general sense, from the “Members in Ministry” point of view, and also in breakout groups, including those focused on Education, Youth and Young Adult Ministry, Elders, Children’s Ministry, and Member Ministries.
Another important item to note is that this year the February 18 Conference Connect gathering will be live streamed, and then will follow each of the focus groups in a separate stream, allowing you to choose the discussion you want to follow. Chat participation will also be included, so even if you can’t make it in person, you can be there virtually.
