February 21 Communiqué

Don’t miss other Announcements  &  Week At a Glance in the Church Bulletin (Click here )

Sunnyside Family,

This Sabbath Sunnyside Church embarks on a discussion on the future of our mission as a church family.  Many times over the years we have spoken of foreign missions and home missions.  But this will be on church family mission.  The 99One Conference this weekend will be very pivotal in examining who we really are as a church family, and who we might wish to become.

The Millennial Matrix, as it has been labeled, is a rich body of research telling us a lot about ourselves, some good and some, well, not as good as maybe we would like.  In fact, some of it is rather arresting when we look at it.  It has to do with the church’s mission to our young adults, our children, and our grandchildren.  It is information that we cannot afford to ignore.

As you can see (and probably already know), this weekend is going to be a family fireside chat.  This is a time to come and ask your questions, hear from others, and share your thoughts.  This is a time to share where you want to see Sunnyside go in the years to come.  This conference, (or family symposium or powwow) must have all of us in attendance to accomplish its goals.  The genius of this time together is that no one is coming to us and saying, “This is who Sunnyside needs to become.”  It is for all of us to decide together.  The only future is the one which we create for ourselves.

In this newsletter you will see the agenda for the day.  Please note the timing.  This day is going to be historic and it needs your attendance for the day.  Please, join us at 9:15 a.m. for a potluck continental breakfast of fresh fruits, rolls, muffins, or whatever you would like to bring.  Please, bring it ready to serve.  Bring your whole family!  Lunch will be genuine Adventist haystacks provided.  (Some things change not!)

See you Sabbath,

Pastor Scott and Staff
