Happy Father’s Day Weekend!
This has been a great week for Sunnyside Vacation Bible School. One-hundred ten plus kids have come out nightly to join in the summer festival about “Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus Was a Kid.”
Over the years I have participated in many great VBS programs, but I doubt that any topped this one for the level of organization, participation, quality of program, and clear spiritual message. A heart-felt thank you of appreciation is due to Emilie Butler, Shannon Christensen, Erin Betz, and Natalia Gramada for their tireless and positive leadership. But how do I dare cite four names when so many helped in so many ways? This was a team effort and it has really been a top-notch program. Visiting parents were overheard commenting on the organization and quality of this program. The team did us all proud. Thanks team!!!
Tomorrow, you will be able to get a taste of this program with VBS church. Now, first service will be more traditional with just a few VBS items as part of the worship service. However, second service will definitely feel like Sunnyside church, but will feature a real feel for VBS. Pastor Jonathan is speaking both services with a sermon titled, “Transfused.”
If you haven’t been able to assist, VBS teardown is always a big project. Should you be willing, you might inquire from Emilie Butler as to how you might help.
One last thing, please, don’t forget the church business meeting scheduled for this Wednesday evening at 7:00. See the announcement for full details, but be mindful that this is the time of year when we vote the church budget for our fiscal year, July 1, 2015-June 30, 2016.
See you tomorrow as we lift up our voices and join together on our knees.
Pastor Scott and Staff

~Happy Father’s Day ~
Thank you, Dad, for being there, the times I needed you,
When it really mattered most, you were there to walk me through,
You showed me the love of God, and taught me how to live,
You thought nothing of your time with me, but were willing to give. ~M.S. Lawndes
