I write as I just watched Carl Haggerty laying new carpet in the Prayer Room. He has already given the room a new coat of paint this week. On Sabbath, stop by and check out the new looks. Sunday, September 13, at 9:00 a.m., is scheduled for an old-fashioned carpet-pulling party in preparation for the laying of the new hallway carpet going in that same week. Things are looking up!
The Design Committee would like to encourage that we each continue our financial support of ReNew in that they can proceed only as fast as funds allow. A redo of our four main restrooms is coming up but at the present, we are going to have to hold off until funding allows. Thanks to each for their support in the wonderful progress we’ve seen so far this spring and summer.
On Sabbath we will conclude with the third in a series of three sermons from the last three books of the Old Testament. This one from Malachi is entitled, “Bright Night, Long Night.” In it we will examine how the “come out of Babylon” remnant, so quickly cooled in their faith and service to God. We will look at how one can go from being a person with a burning passion faith, to a believer in name but not much in practice.
This is a VERY busy weekend at Sunnyside. Do read-up on the announcements lest you miss something. Don’t miss the Annual Sunnyside summer picnic and corn feed. Fun starts at 3:30 and we’ll plan to eat at 4:30. We will be putting up the tent canopies but do bring your comfortable chairs and sunscreen.
With love to all,
Pastor Scott and Staff
