September 5 Communiqué

Don’t miss other Announcements  &  Week At a Glance in the Church Bulletin (Click here )

Hello Sunnyside,

Ah, don’t you love September?  Baked our first winter squash; yummmm!  The nights sleep so well and no air conditioning is needed.  The rains have started to return.  God is good!

With September comes our annual Labor Day weekend Reunion Sunnyside whereby we host Bobby McGhee and those coming for the thirty-six teams who come in for the Northwest Adventist Softball Tournament.

This Sabbath we welcome special guests Dan Matthews and Paul Richardson.  Dan will be our worship service speaker and hardly needs any introduction since retiring from his years in Adventist media production.  Paul Richardson who has been many years with AdventSource, is now general manager for Positive Life Radio here in the northwest.  Paul, who has roots in Oregon, has written many books on ministering to non-attending members and keeping Adventist young people connected to the church.  Paul will speak on this subject in the sanctuary from 10:00-11:00 Sabbath morning.  This is a great Sabbath to give special invitations to special friends.

Don’t forget the dinner potluck following the second worship service this Sabbath, and at 6:00 p.m., we again will host the annual “Bobby McGhee and Friends” vespers program.  Sunday will be the tournament at Brush Prairie, Washington.

Read on for the many other announcement contained in this newsletter.

With you in Christ,

Pastor Scott and Staff

This Weekend

Our worship services are at 8:45 am and 11:15 am. This week Dan Matthews will present our Bible message titled “A Life Journey With Jesus.”

On this themed Lucky 13th weekend, we are honored to have Dan Matthews and
Paul Richardson
joining us in our worship, and this evening Bobby McGhee and Friends will present their 13th annual vespers at 6:00. Bring a friend for this outstanding presentation. Immediately following, there will be continued fellowship and pizza at Stark Street Pizza. The first $400 is prepaid! (Thank you Bobby!)

Our monthly fellowship potluck is today immediately following the second service. You are invited to stay, enjoy great food, good friendships, and make new acquaintances.

You are cordially invited to honor and celebrate the life of Alcyon Fleck at a special memorial service this afternoon, September 5 at 3:00 pm in the Meadow Glade SDA Church. Alcyon passed to her rest on May 25 in College Place, Washnington. She and her husband, Ken, were co-founders of International Children’s Care. Alcyon was affectionately known throughout the ICC family as “Mommy Fleck.” During the past 38 years, thousands of orphan children have had the opportunity for a new life as a result of her efforts. We will miss our friend, yet her legacy will continue to make a difference one child at a time.
