Time to Celebrate!
As you come to church this Sabbath you are going to see major change. This last Sunday a group of at least two dozen people showed up and made quick-work of the old carpet in the perimeter hallways to the church. By noon, the old carpet was gone, the floors scraped of old glue, and everything was vacuumed.
Early Monday morning the carpet layers were here and as this newsletter is being written, (noon Thursday) they are down to the finishing touches. I think you are all going to like the change. The colors are starting to come together and complement each other. The tile work in the north entrance is also finished. The center inlay has been voted to be replicated in the center of the west entrance.
Pathfinders and Adventurers are all off to a great start. At the Wednesday board meeting a report was given telling us that the Pathfinders and staff earned over $12,000 for their work at camp meeting this summer. Wow!
We hope to see you all this Sabbath as we celebrate worship together and focus on the subject of how much “Advent” there still is in “Adventist?” We will want to look at the question of finding the right balance between being overzealous and being sleepy “virgins.” In the fullness of time, God will again send His Son. Maranatha!

A very special thank you to Carl Haggerty for organizing and all of you who came out to our “Carpet Pulling” party last Sunday. The work was hard, dusty, and dirty but we got it done in record time thanks to all the help we had. Because of this effort, you can see how quickly the church shines in a whole new light. We would also like to thank Lloyd Wescott for providing lunch for the workers. Your eager support of our ReNew Sunnyside projects is greatly appreciated.
On September 27 at noon, the Women’s Ministries and Senior Ministries will sponsor a health talk by Dr. Don Hall entitled “Healthy Protein.” A light lunch will be provided. All are invited. Please RSVP to the church office, 503-252-8080.
