November 7 Communiqué

Don’t miss other Announcements  &  Week At a Glance in the Church Bulletin (Click here)

I love Sunnyside Church. I love that people of Sunnyside are so friendly. I love that we invest in our children.  I love that we are always planning and preparing for our next mission adventure. In March 2016, we’ll be sponsoring two mission experiences. And in the next seven days, two mission teams from Sunnyside will be traveling to take the gospel to those who need to hear the good news about Jesus.  Whether it be Belize and Cuba next week, or Ethiopia and Los Angeles in the spring, I love the fact that Sunnyside is intentional about missions.

I hope you’ll be praying for our mission teams as they travel as ambassadors for Sunnyside and ambassadors for Jesus.  As hard as we will work, the whole endeavor is fruitless without the presence of the Holy Spirit and the prayers of those back home.  Thanks for praying for us as we represent you and our God.

As much as we are committed to overseas mission, I’m reminded that mission starts at home.  Day by day, week by week, we are all ambassadors for God’s kingdom. As we worship together in the church, we are ambassadors. As we connect with people in the community, with family, with coworkers we are ambassadors.

As you are praying for our overseas missions this week, I invite you to do one more thing. If God impresses the name of someone on your heart, connect with them. Maybe it’s someone that you suddenly realize you haven’t seen at church for a while.  Maybe it’s a close friend that you haven’t had a “good conversation” with lately. If you’re reminded of their name, maybe it’s God’s way of telling you to call them and connect.

As some go on mission overseas and everyone else is on mission here, God will be honored.  His kingdom will be strengthened.  His people will be enriched.  And we will be able to say together, God Himself is among us.

See you tomorrow!

Pastor Jonathan
