July 23 Communiqué

Don’t miss other Announcements  &  Week At a Glance in the Church Bulletin (Click here)

Greetings Church Family,

Have you ever imagined what heaven will be like?

Since the start of time many have anticipated its arrival and the commencement of its splendor. After all, heaven is an indispensable hope of the Christian faith. Heaven is not simply an ideal or theological perspective of a type of world we wish to experience now, but on the contrary, it truly is a better world to come.

In recent years, speculation concerning heaven and what it entails has reached a startling peak. Books have been written, movies produced, stories told about what heaven is all about! Whether from a fictional perspective, or an all-to-true reality, it’s a topic that is on the hearts and minds of many.

The Bible shares with us in the book of Revelation the wonderful truth about heaven:

“And I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.” -Revelation 21:3

Let me put it like this: if you can currently live in a world that is defined by sin, pain, and ultimately alienation from God, and yet in some way still experience the fruit of His Holy Spirit, then I want you to imagine what those same fruits will taste like in heaven! In a world governed by perfection, love, and reconciliation with God. And on that day, when you are standing in the very “presence” of God, you will experience something which you have never experienced before, that is, the fruits of the Spirit fully MAGNIFIED to the highest degree! These are the real rewards of heaven, the presence and power of the fruits of the Spirit.

Think about it for a moment. For example, let’s talk about one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit which is peace. If you can experience God’s peace amid the distress and chaos of a world which has been separated from God, then what will it be like THEN, when the reality of heaven is already governed by peace and reconciliation with God? Right now you may be separated, but then you will be completely restored, completely reconciled, and at perfect peace! No more barriers, no more breaches, no more sin between YOU and GOD forever! Just imagine, what will heaven be like?
