February 18 Communiqué

Don’t miss other Announcements  &  Week At a Glance in the Church Bulletin (Click here)

Dear Church Family,

Today, I’m thankful for this community of faith. In the last week, dozens of volunteers worked tireless hours to put on a first-class children’s church program that taught and inspired our children to follow Jesus more closely. Over the past few weeks, Sabbath School classes and other groups have come together for our Life Together Lunches to insure that every new guest on Sabbath has a community in which to eat lunch. Many church members have rallied to support families who have said goodbye to loved ones. Still others spent time together last weekend with WWU professors to think deeply about our faith and grow in spiritual maturity. Every day there is a group of believers meeting for one reason or another, experiencing life

This weekend, it continues as a dozen families have agreed to host some of the students from WWU who will be sharing music with us in our worship services.  Tomorrow afternoon, we gather with the Allens to mourn the loss of a precious family member.  And Sabbath evening, we will gather to celebrate God’s call to mission and prayerfully dedicate the Thorp family before they leave for Nepal.  Sunday, we will gather to share in the joy of impending birth and shower the Bradleys with gifts and support as they welcome their firstborn into the world.  Each of these events is a spiritual act as we experience the ups and downs of life in Christian community.

Everywhere we turn, faithful community exists. I’m excited to see how God will lead and draw even more people into meaningful community with God’s people. I’m reminded of
1 Peter 2 where Peter calls believers “living stones” who “are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” The Master Architect is at work at Sunnyside, building faithful individuals into a beautiful masterpiece of Christian community in which we fulfill His call together.

May each of you experience a rich Sabbath blessing as we live in community together this weekend.

March 17-26: Islam and Christianity in Bible Prophecy.
The headlines are unmistakable. Our world is on the precipice of extraordinary cataclysmic change. The conflict between two great religions – Islam and Christianity – is fast approaching a devastating climax that will shake the whole world. Indeed, the face of Western Europe has already been transformed through rapid Islamic expansion, and the fear of terror and holy war pervade the American psyche as multiple conflicts rage in the Middle East. But what happens next – and when? In an age of constant unpredictability, how can we really know what the future holds? After a decade of careful study and scholarly legwork, international speaker Tim Roosenberg unveils a staggering new study of Bible prophecy that demonstrates that God’s Word is not silent regarding Islam in these last days. Islam and Christianity in Prophecy carefully explores and unlocks the mysterious book of Daniel, specifically chapters 11 and 12, unveiling a thrilling picture of prophecy that includes the past, present, and future roles of Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam, and the United States in the final conflict ahead. Along the way, Tim Roosenberg provides the answers you need to survive the growing holy war, answers that will give you complete confidence in God’s Word the Bible, and faith in the promises of Christ. Event Location: Healing Hope Adventist Fellowship.
