March 4 Communiqué

Don’t miss other Announcements  &  Week At a Glance in the Church Bulletin (Click here)

JonathanDear Church Family,

Just this week, the Adventist Office of Archives and Statistics announced that the church has recently crossed the threshold of 20 million members worldwide. When compared with the world population, that may be a small number. Yet the few who gathered to establish the SDA Church in 1863 would’ve had no idea that there’d be 20 million people ascribing to the faith today. Twenty million people who have heard the message of Jesus and His soon return, committing to the faith and to preparing for that day.

When we hear statistics like these, it serves to remind us how far this faith community has come. In everything we do, we are part of something much bigger than ourselves. Sunnyside itself is part of a broader picture, a worldwide network of people who are worshipping the same God and pursuing the same goal of helping others prepare to meet Jesus. It’s a sacred work, a holy calling, a direct invitation from the Savior to participate in the centuries-long work of introducing people to faith in Jesus.

Join me in praying for those who have most recently joined the faith. And join me in looking for Spirit-led opportunities to introduce another to Jesus.

PAA Students Bring Project Based Learning to Small SDA School:

Find out how Project Based Learning and Mission Focused Learning helped Portland Adventist Academy and McMinnville Adventist Christian School collaborate for a day of hands-on learning and mission building of Together As One.

We’re going to Cuba!
Portland Adventist Academy Spanish class students are among the select group of high school students invited to come on this mission led by Andrews University. In recent years, missionaries have been making paths and building strong relationships in Cuba. Andrews University professors of Theology have been working with SDA ministers in Cuba and helping them with the resources they lack. This is a powerful movement that we get to be a part of! We’re so excited to be watching these students prepare for what will be a life-changing experience for them and those they will help. Follow the link to read more about what they’ll be doing and how you can help. You can also follow their blog which is updated about their diligent preparation. The blog will be the main form of communication during their trip later this month, so we encourage you to follow along!

March 17-26: Islam and Christianity in Bible Prophecy.
The headlines are unmistakable. Our world is on the precipice of extraordinary cataclysmic change. The conflict between two great religions – Islam and Christianity – is fast approaching a devastating climax that will shake the whole world. Indeed, the face of Western Europe has already been transformed through rapid Islamic expansion, and the fear of terror and holy war pervade the American psyche as multiple conflicts rage in the Middle East. But what happens next – and when? In an age of constant unpredictability, how can we really know what the future holds? After a decade of careful study and scholarly legwork, international speaker Tim Roosenberg unveils a staggering new study of Bible prophecy that demonstrates that God’s Word is not silent regarding Islam in these last days. Islam and Christianity in Prophecy carefully explores and unlocks the mysterious book of Daniel, specifically chapters 11 and 12, unveiling a thrilling picture of prophecy that includes the past, present, and future roles of Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam, and the United States in the final conflict ahead. Along the way, Tim Roosenberg provides the answers you need to survive the growing holy war, answers that will give you complete confidence in God’s Word the Bible, and faith in the promises of Christ. Event Location: Healing Hope Adventist Fellowship.
