May 13 Communiqué

Don’t miss other Announcements  &  Week At a Glance in the Church Bulletin (Click here)

Dear Church Family,
The rumors are true! After a few years off, SunnyCity returns this summer on July 2. SunnyCity was our annual community outreach in which we set up a “mini-city” in the park to teach kids about civic life, community, and faith. This year the tradition continues. In its new form, SunnyCity will be a bit different. A bit smaller. A bit more focused. But it keeps the same heart: connecting with families in the local community to bless them and inspire them.

We’re excited to announce that Sunnyside is partnering with PAA, Adventist Medical Center, and Sunnyside Symphony Orchestra to put on an Independence Day weekend event that will be a great experience for the families of our community. We will host the event at PAA, beginning the afternoon with the SunnyCity experience. At 4:00 PM, Sunnyside Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert on the lawn. Combine the elements, and the result will be a great opportunity for us to bless our neighbors and get acquainted with more of them.

Of course, anything we do depends on the dedicated and conscientious support of dozens of church members who volunteer their time to make great things happen. I hope that if you’re reading this, you’ll plan to set that date aside and participate in this fun event. We will need greeters, a first aid station, teams to help with setup and tear down, as well as the dozens of volunteers required to populate SunnyCity and host all of our guests. Soon, you’ll be hearing lots more. But for now, Save-the-Date and look forward to how God will use this event and others in the pipeline to connect us more meaningfully with our community.

Blessings,

Pastor Jonathan Russell
