Dear Church Family,
Vacation Bible School is over for another year! It took many hours of dedicated preparation. It took lots of energy from every volunteer that participated. But the testimony of parents is that it was worth it. One parent told me that their kids just keep singing and singing the songs about God their Maker. Another told me that at bedtime, their little one kept repeating, “Wow God,” as she drifted off to sleep. Still, another parent said that their children felt incredibly welcomed here and that something like this should happen more often.
Over three days last weekend, many children saw God through new eyes as they experienced Him through Maker Fun Factory. Many of them came from environments where church is not a part of their life. And some of those were so moved by their experience that they plan to be back to Sunnyside soon. Maker Fun Factory made a difference for the Kingdom of God. And it wouldn’t have happened without the dedicated support from the Sunnyside Family: Partners who contribute to the General Fund/Church Expense, Participants who were with us through the Sabbath morning experience, and Volunteers who gave so much time and energy to make sure the kids had a great time learning! And in all of it, we give thanks to God who gives us breath and His Spirit who moves hearts and minds to follow Him.
We follow up a great weekend, with another. Tomorrow will have the feel of a homecoming as many people return to Sunnyside to see old friends and re-connect with Bobby McGhee. From the worship service with Terry Johnsson, to the concert in the evening with a bit of everyone, this Sabbath is significant because of our opportunity to reconnect with old church family. On their return to Sunnyside, may they find a place that is inspiring, and a community of people that are infused with God’s Spirit. May God do for us and our guests tomorrow what He did for the kids last week: make Himself known through His Spirit.
Anticipating Great Things,
Pastor Jonathan Russell

Join us for a time of study, prayer, and fellowship for young and old alike! Our camp is devoted to inspire and train attendees to fall in love with studying their Bibles and spending time in meaningful prayer with the Lord. Born out of frustration in not being able to attend a 4-month Bible study training course, a group of friends and one pastor hatched a plan to design a camp that would focus on Bible study training and prayer over the course of an extended weekend. The results have been a tremendous blessing over the last eight years!
