Greetings Church Family,

One of the vision points of our new Lead Pastor Mark is to grow our ministry to the immediate community around our church. I have always been most appreciative of the way Sunnysiders minister in so many relevant and effective ways to people they are connected to in and from Sunnyside. One such member is Ron Meisner who recently “retired” from Portland Adventist Community Services. Ron started working at PACS in February 2006, on Valentine’s Day! When he started managing the PACS Food Pantry there were about 40-60 families daily receiving food. Now, thirteen years later, there are more than 80 such families being helped every day! Wow!

The neat thing about Ron’s retirement is that he continues to volunteer at PACS each Thursday fetching, carrying, and delivering food hither and yon to keep this ministry thriving and relevant to our community. Thank you, Chief!

Jesus says, in Matthew 25:40  “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Blessings,

Pastor Dave Allen

Send your “shout-outs” to info@SunnysideAdventist.org so we can include them in next week’s Communiqué. This is a place you can recognize someone for doing well, or going beyond expectations.

Shout out to the team who worked so diligently in preparing for the Sunnyside Symphony Orchestra concert this last Sunday, those who performed,  and those who helped clean up following the reception. Thank you to each of you!
